Ophelia

Madness
a placeholder for a love gone astray
in his mind she flies relentless
she made a space inside her but he won't stay
in the shadow of the absence of a phone call
Ophelia falls
leaving little to endure
and the roses grow on without her

Could there be one last strand of auburn hair
that leads into truths laid broken and bare
could there be one last stand in the midnight air
the naked dawn comes with no one left to care
at all
no one hears her fall

Raging
like a storm built upon dashed hopes
in his heart he has made a cage
shaped by her hands flailing at the end of a rope
in the absence of the shadow of the fading sun
Ophelia runs
keeping it all deep within
and the roses grow on without him

Could there be one last fight for what's fair
that leads into lies left unspoken, unaware
could there be one last night free of nightmares
the naked dawn comes with no one left to share
it all
no one hears her call

Ophelia she dances
by the lights on the harborside
Ophelia she prances
on the graves of all she had left to hide
if she's to drown it won't be for him after all
the water is so inviting as she curls into a ball
makeshift for romancing
second-chancing
Ophelia she's dancing
leaving a little peace for her
left to endure
and the roses grow on without her

Great writing and super use of metaphors etc etc.

"Ophelia she's dancing
leaving a little peace for her

and the roses grow on without her"

Sad but inspiring.

Soul drifter..i wish I knew you. You move me through your poetry, your written words touch me deeply.  I like to think I am your biggest fan.  You know who loves you baby.across the miles and a very far away emotional distance.
