Time has become our enemy
where once it was our friend
A foe that won't be beaten,
victorious in the end

Once it was flirtatious,
teeming with youth and desire
while lurking in the background,
stoking flames of future fires

Our dreams consumed there in it,
little we do will remain,
A journey through the borders
of pleasure and of pain

So, live your life to the fullest,
and reckon not the cost
For time is destined to defeat us
and to that my friend...I'll toast

Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here...

I toast you right back, my friend. No, Father Time is the kickass one which takes us all down. I liked this poem.

yes, no matter how young we feel, time has a way of sneaking up on the body, and we realize, we're growing older....I've so enjoyed this ride, regardless of age...
Lovely write

I'll be 60 in December and I feel old like I could keel over any day with no surprises. I keep thinking I'll start taking better care of myself and live a little longer and feel younger too. I keep hoping to find a support group but there just isn't a Doughnuts Anonymous. ~L

No matter how old someone gets Lori Rhoden, they're just one decision away from changing their life. It's said that for some,"60 is the new 40". I hope you make that "one" decision that turns it all around for you.

Thanks for your visit and your comments.
