It was a long love letter that I wrote in the sand
I thought that I could sell it to a rock and roll band

Maybe ol' Pat Boone would want to try it again
It was a long love letter that I wrote in the sand

I gave it to my honey, I thought she'd always be mine
I bought her clothes and diamonds, yeah I'd treat her so fine

Took her out for dinner and offered a wedding plan
Now I'm layin' on the beach alone a' scribblin' in the sand

It was a long love letter that I wrote in the sand
Even B.B's 'Lucille' couldn't play it so sad

It was a long love letter that I wrote in the sand
I thought we two could make it through, holding each others hand

This reminded me of the time me and my girlfriend were standing on the beach one night in Long Beach and a large buoy washed to shore...we rolled it unto the sand and wrote love messages on the sandy surface...james

Thank you James. I worked at the AAmco Transmission shop next to the barber school on Long Beach Boulevard during '71-'72.

I appreciate the visit and the comment.

Well PU I could have written something similar about my first 2 marriages. Only instead of all the romantic stuff about the beach and sand it would have been about having babies and him being a drunk. But the last line would have been the same. ~L

It's no game searching for that one 'fearless true love', as you apparently well know Lori Rhoden.

Thanks for the visit.

Yes, that's right Mr. Bolton. But it never really happened to me this way. I just write silly stuff sometimes among all the rest. But I'm happy you stopped by, thank you.
