Fair to middlin' of nowhere

The pale pearl full moon rose
with a ruffled halo.
As it ascended above the trees,
pearl deepened into butter yellow
and it was swallowed up
by the hungry clouds.
Until all that was left to see
was a white wisp of ruffle
that resembled a napkin
tucked around an atmospheric chin.

My, my, my good friend, but your poetical charm(?) holds fast within the lines of this one, you are able to reach beyond the moon and pluck your words from the universe beyond. You are superb.

Excellent!

The moon here last night was a mix of butter, and oranges-like a harvest moon... full and bright.

Thank you, Lori--love your poem.

Wow Jerry thanks for your most generous compliments on my poem! It always amazes me how fast the moon can change on my drive into work.  It won't be long now and I will have sunrises to inspire me. ~L

Hey Ida!
I'm glad you liked my poem, I enjoyed writing it as much as I enjoyed watching the moon. ~L

Yay!  Lori, your poem is absolutely delightful.  The visuals are precious, and then some.

Oh thank you so much Blues! It is always good when you stop by with your two cents. They are always shiny and heads up! ~L

L, What a great painting this was!
I'm such a fan of moon-poems,
much enjoyed yours.
