Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Food…
We need it
We want it
We crave it

Food for our bodies
Food for our souls
Food for thought

Though our bodies be fed
Still we starve our souls
With empty thoughts

We become malnourished
Snacking on the superficial
Too full for truth

Our bellies distended
Eyes blankly stare
As our time passes away

We look for supplements
Take solace in Christ
Fight over the names of God

Yet when we seek manna
Hunger is no more
Our souls are fed

The world has purpose
Our lives have meaning
Our minds are full

Yes indeed, my friend, we all have to find their own form of manna. I have found mine and I feel you have pretty much found yours.

I'm glad you said "own form of manna". This was not meant to be a religious poem. Actually the girls at work gave me the topic "Food" to write about and this is what I came up with.

I like this..not so many people know how to look for manna to feed their souls. I feel you have found yours, and are at peace with yourself.

Well...You know the commercial where the person smacks themselves in the head when they realize they could have had a V8? That's me with Manna sometimes. LOL I am at peace with myself being a very flawed human being. I appreciate your comment very much. Thank you! ~L

Our deserts need more than food and water, if that be manna, so be it. Manna is family, a gentle  touch from a stranger, and a kiss from one who once thought of us as nothing.
