  Where is Spring?

Grey clouds frozen to
the mountain tops
are tipped in frosted
Winter moonlight
above this dazzling
ice-crystal forest.
From somewhere
very, very far away
the tremulous
sound of distant
evening bells
rides the raw-cold
twilight wind
as ten thousand
tree-shadows
dance  its
plaintiff tune.
On a night
such as this,
does Spring
live best in a
grand memory,
a fine hope, or a
lovely dream?

Beautiful.I went out to look at the moon last night but as I looked over the opposite way I saw the dark shadow of my very huge Magnolia tree.It looked beautiful so tall and wide and shaped perfectly. Dark against the light cloud covered sky. Wish you could have seen it.You would have put some nice words to the scene.

The scene you describe would indeed likely generate some lovely cascading imagery!

I've simply tried to give fine 'voice' to Nature throughout the ever-changing pageant of seasons down the rolling years
