Cain killed Abel
eh . . . maybe it was the other way around
my mind is in a whirl
all I know
evil reigns supreme
it is preached on a daily basis
the great need to kill the infidels
Allahu Akbar
been that way for centuries
the great crusades come to mind
sweeping across Europe
God wills it
the battle cry
of thousands of Christians
in order to
free the Holy Land from the Muslims
these days Allah
seems intent on getting even
the violence
the damn violence grabs me
by the throat
and yes, chokes me up
even fills my thoughts of hate
because of the
slaughter
anyone thinking beheading
it takes advantage of
my powerlessness and weakness
sends me plunging into the void which
fills my heart with exasperating anger
the never-ending conundrum
since Cain and Able
or was it the other way around
the shedding of blood
rules the world we live in
Satan may be a Biblical untruth
and the wickedness
lies within the breast of us
darkness has taken hold of mankind
just one more chapter
in the derangement of man

Your frustration, exasperation and your anger are palpable, Jerry. Understandably so. Why must man take his morals from ancient scripts? Don't we know better now? Aren't we beyond all that? The gods found in such scripts are invariably: Misogynistic, homophobic, ethnic-cleansing, vengeful, malevolent bullies. That goes for the majority. I know my views are not the norm or generally accepted, and I wish to offend no-one, but that is what I read, in black and white. As always: straight from the heart, and a pleasure to read you.

Good morning Redstart, and thank you very much for your comments. I agree with you one hundred percent concerning the "gods." You put it perfectly.

Jerry, you got it right the world isn't getting any better and the planet is growing weak.
Radical seems to be the norm in many cases with the old adage beaming through, "violence begets violence."
Little packages of human existence all blaming one another.
Did you spell it Able for a certain reason?  Abel
Wack it with that pen!!

"Wack it with that pen!!" . . . I "whacked" it Eric, thanks for noticing it. Thank you for you wonderful comments, and I so agree that it is small bands of misguided and angry men who seem to commit all the violence in the world. As for the world? It sits on its hands and speaks b.s. so as not to hurt anyone's friggin' feelings.
