Days flutter by
like unloved butterflies
unappreciated they disappear
into the river of time
never to return again.

How do we use our freedom?
Do we choose to fly high
daring to co-create our lives
or do we surrender
to slumber
closing our eyes
to the waving of guides
who show us the way?

The way
to be in harmony
with the intentions
of our soul
who wants us to know
and to show
that we are part
of the Universal Whole.

Every day we can create
a little crest of memory
upon the ever flowing
waves on the river of time
little meaningful sparks
that dialogue forever
with the stars above.

Sounds like a sure fire winner to me. Uh, that is except for that little thing you called "memory." I have arrived at the time in my life where memories are lost and more become lost every day. Still . . . Taken on the whole, everything about this poem works for me.

Thank you so much, dear Jerry, for your kind words. Yes, our personal memory archive may shrink a "little" with age, but Universe remembers and probably one day, that particular day, it will all become visible and tangible again. ... and of course the sparkling gems of our lives will never surrender to oblivion.

Well written, Margherita!
As for me, I use my freedom in all possible ways, including those two

Thank you, dear Galina, for your visit here and your kind comment. Isn't it wonderful that we have the choice?! We wouldn't be complete if we didn't experience both the heights and the depth, the attachment and the letting go, enthusiasm and apathy etc. etc. How would we be able to understand others if we had not somehow experienced or got in touch with all possible facets of our earthly dual personality?
Hugs.

Straight from the soul!   Your talent overwhelms me.   The first verse was incredible, expressing so many senses.

It is good to read you, again!

Margherita - Somewhere between our laughing at Death, sneering at Doom and chuckling at Catastrophe;a human spark is co-created that seems to easily dialogue with the stars. Now I'm inspired and can't help looking up. Thanks Margherita. Namyh

"The sparkling gems of our lives will never surrender to oblivion."
You have it right as you always do.We will not surrender or go out crying.I hope to be laughing all the way however long it takes to arrive at our unknown destination. In the meantime I will continue to add and stock up  all the memories I have to date. And wave good bye while saying "It has been a great ride".
Best to you with the loving heart.Jo

Dear Misc, thank you from my heart for your loving comment. You know how much I enjoy your presence here on the blue pages.

Dear Ida, it pleases me to hear that you like my words. Thank you beautiful heart.

The inspiration is mutual, dear Namyh, thank you so much. Good to see you around!

Dear Martyjo, thank you dear one, for reading and commenting so kindly. I think you are a living example of the best attitude we can have towards life, which is a precious gift to handle wisely indeed. Moving on is as natural as being born in fact. But we wonder and wonder what will be ... and that too is part of the Path.

Love and joy to all.
