Lucky Strike

Perhaps when you
strike out at love
you wanted someone
to break your heart
more then you wanted
someone to love you.

Well now, I would rather have many, many "loves", than never having experienced it at all - then, if they were always going away and I found myself on the hunt again, I'd have to believe the fault (for the most part) was me, and I'd have to pause, do a lot of heavy introspection and learn to like myself, before subjecting myself on someone else with disillusionment.

Then, and only then, once I am honest with me, I'd open myself to the love of another again, hiding nothing about who I am, and what can be expected; no false presentations at all.

And I would hunt no longer, but let love find me.

I live by the last two paragraphs, my friend, and have for many, many years.
And when I chose to live that way love found me and has been my continuous companion for
close to forty years now.  So the above isn't just talk ... it's reality.

Thank you Jerry, Victoria and jwesley for reading and responding...I believe if love finds you the other person must have been looking...isn't someone always the aggressor...also its easy for those with successful relationships who found that willing partner to share their success stories and those that are not successful have nothing else to share but failure...two sides to every story...take it easy on me...James
