These questions speak to character,
so frankly, I am not amused
that I must sign each page in trust
and speak with you sans attitude.

You touch me where it hurts and I
am asked to pretzelize myself
to fit machines of poor design--
they're cold, they're hard and hurt like Hell
just climbing up to suit your needs
convenient for you--but me?
I am sick but you can't bend?
You question then--my temperment...
I'll suffer for at least three weeks
just "hop up on the table"? PLEASE.
If I could hop, I'd hop away.

I flinch each time you press my legs,
and yes, I watch your face for clues
as you watch mine for pain in ruse.

I would not be here, don't you know?
If options were my choice, I'd go
flipping you the finger as
I did once, without a pass
to offer to the monitors
in the halls of "you are cursed"
when I did not know that I
was limited and I would die

some day

I pray

there is

something

a place to find my family,
my friends, my pets, and butterflies
like specks of dust that hypnotize
dancing in my dreams, my eyes
would see a life turned upside down
if my brain would not translate
the world has always been this way...
for me, you see--do you agree?
And just how much will you charge me?
For your dismissive arrogance...

Once upon a time, I danced.
I didn't do it for a chance
to be some superstar on stage.
I just did it anyway--

because I felt no pain.

edited for "convenience". Really. It bothered me that I spelled it wrong. ?

I'm making up a five-page form of my own to hand over to doctors, as a little bit of tit-for-tat.

Thank you much for reading. Love you lady!

Oh my dear lady friends, don't worry about me, my muse just happens to be a grouse  poetically...there are others, much more in need.

This one is for them.

And martyjo? Your people had better be taking good care of you--I'm pretty sure I can still catch a ride. *smoochies* I'm sure you're living in terror of very large cakes. *giggle*

Love the inner strength of this piece.

Ha, don't think you're the lone ranger when it comes to this....

"some day

my friends, my pets, and butterflies
like specks of dust that hypnotize
dancing in my dreams, my eyes
would see a life turned upside down
if my brain would not translate

And just how much will you charge me?
For your dismissive arrogance...

Once upon a time, I danced.
I didn't do it for a chance
to be some superstar on stage.
I just did it anyway--

because I felt no pain."

Excellent disclosure, I read with intensity.

When you take on your demons you do it in grand, kickass style, Karen. You are one of  kind here in the blue rooms. And, yes, I can't stand to let misspelled words stand. I wonder what that says about those who don't care?

*grin*

I know I've probably said so before, but I actually wore a pair of those groucho marx glasses--to the OBGYN. Just to test to see if the gentleman ever looked at the face of his patients.

Um, he did.

They are gonna put me away one day if I don't start behaving myself...

Thank you all for reading my "whining". *hugs*

Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance.
It's the only way to true romance.
Do not care what others say.
Tell them please to go away.

Sorry to hear about your pain.

Sometimes those pain free times feel so far away they're hard to remember... which is reason enough for a bad attitude. *S* Feeling for you here! *S*

There are some poems that I read, enjoy and move on.  Others, I want to tuck in my pocket and carry them with me. Yours are often "tuckers" - and this is one of them.  Much enjoyed.

Smiling at the five pages of paperwork you're going to give the docs...tell them you want a self-evaluation for them to fill out - and then a one-on-one with them so you can tell them how they failed to perform to minimum standards...
