    Poetry and Regrets

I shall watch for her forever
with the last flaming rays
of every Spring sunset,
in the warmth of the
soft Summer twilight,
with the rise of each
mystic Autumn moon,
by the cold-inscrutable
Winter starlight,
Love is a butterfly
  taken wing ...
beyond these shattered dreams
and traceless, shadowed memories
in this eternal nether land
of  poetry and regrets.

I can sorta relate to this sad, plaintive bit of excellent verse, Bruce.

Beautiful in its melancholy, dear Bruce.

This is such a beautiful testament to how love lingers in our hearts long after it's walked out the door.

A beautiful poem with wonderful, nicely flowing words.

Beautiful, but very sad, Bruce.

Sadness often brings about the most beautiful poetry of all.

All the seasons of life are painted here in poetry of motion and time, but still waiting for one to complete the dream.  Loneliness.   This poem speaks quietly and wells deeply.

I would like to agree,
but am more inclined as I continue
to read and gather in the words
of poetry and poets,
that there cannot be regret
for what had to escape
from within...

for it was all shared,
and someone took heed
listened, and took away a gift
at one time or another, and
that is the true gift of a poet
to the world...

so no, love is in sharing
and you do it so well, Bruce.
