Wind Song

I prayed for a wind song –
a melody of honey treasure
kissing at your ear.
Playing tender touches
in you hair, and
softly stirring and tapping
at you neck
and shoulders…

I watched the song play…

A melody warmed
in a morning sun,
while you slept past
our waking hour.
For a moment I was
jealous of your sleep –
as it held on to you…

I listened to the wind singing…

In a moment,
looking at you,
I saw what loving
a woman truly is.
Such gentleness, as
soft rose-petals of woven silk
contours of a kisses on your lips,
and coy teasing looks
from your loving eyes.
That wind song came alive
and swept sleep from your eyes,
and you smiled and
hugged me gently to you.

I prayed for a wind song –
a melody of honey treasure
kissing at your ear.
Playing tender touches
in you hair, and
softly stirring and tapping
at you neck
and shoulders…

Prayers are answered if you believe –
        listen…

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Maranatha!

I'm not a praying man, but a hoping one, and I feel the two are connected. My hopes have been answered and I have what this poem speaks of. Very nicely written, JL.

Very nice, JL..
Wakes all of the senses..sight, sound and touch..a sort of human equation.
The words of the poem, when added together equal answers that would satisfy any reader that is a romantic....:-)

Just lovely, my friend. A write of which to be proud. And, especially, I liked the words ...
"For a moment I was
jealous of your sleep –
as it held on to you…"

awesome.

I hear if I close my eyes and listen really intently.  I see the love you have so poetically described.  And I am happy that you have shared such intimate beauty with us.  This is a song I will play again and again.
