New inspiration, ideas and concepts
No time to write them down
As the grind of everyday life
And my desire to write continue intersect
I've forgotten many a poem, many a song
Tried to type them in my cell phone
But my battery doesn't last that long
Damn technology
Only good for being overcharged and underserviced
I used to memorize entire poems
But I'm getting older
Each year my memory is becoming more worthless
The clock says time to turn the light off
And turn the sleep on
Wish I could find some hours
To run the writer's marathon

This is very good, it reminds me of some lyrics from Fleetwood Mac.

"Well I've been afraid of changing, because I built my life around you,
but time makes you bolder even children get older and I'm getting older too"

Much enjoyed~~

I can absolutely understand and relate big time here, Street Poet. You are absolutely correct, age makes you forgetful among other vagaries. All we can do it put one literary foot in front of the other and carry on

. . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(&#!$!

Know exactly what you mean SP

Sometimes I leave from the living room to go to the kitchen and by the time I reach the kitchen I forget why I'm in the kitchen.......Yep, asleep in front of the TV EARLY!
I haven't seen the end of a movie in years......I too used to recite poems easily but now they're all the old ones I still know.

Great write!!

Have a good one.

Eric
