The sound of pain

* * *
From my solar plexus
a deep sound of pain
rises uncontrolled
into my throat.
My vocal chords
dress the pain
in dark colors
and let it escape
out into the world
in scaring expansion.

The sound bounces
upon the gloomy street
and gathers desolation.
It pauses for a moment
on a lonely treetop
to collect more power
from the droning wind.
It penetrates the birds’ breast
who join the lament,
stunned into compassion.
It lingers in the clouds
and saturates with
multitudes of
black tear pearls.

The unbearable heaviness
causes fragmentation.
The sound splits
and a single tiny tone
echoes within your heart,
where memories stir
and generate a loving smile.

In the awareness
of your caring smile
the sound of pain
finds its culmination
and finally dies.
Serene acceptance
and gentle letting go
allow me to breathe again.

(big huggies) Oh Margherita, reading this poem really tugged at my heartstrings, where to many I can imagine it's like the pain is a piece of hard candy you keep sucking on and accidentally choke on at first, but in time it dissipates and suddenly your throat feels clear and free to sing to your heart's content!

(does happy dance) This is an amazing emotive read, my friend!

Margherita,

As I read that English is your third language, I am even more taken by the vividness of your poem.  It is absolutely beautiful.   When the speed in which I read a poem slows down by itself and paints a picture to savor, I know I've read a good poem!  Great to read you again.

It is good to know that pain, eventually is a passing thing.   You say it so well.

hugs,

misce

Thank you so much, dear Misce, dear Marti and dear Ctowen, for telling me you appreciated my poem.

Right in this moment I am all excited. It is snowing here in Rome, not just lightly, it is snowing like in the mountains. In just a few minutes all is white ... and traffic is blocked. Here nobody is ready for snow!

Love,
Margherita

Margherita, this a shout of a real poet, makes me think to the painting of Munch edward, this is absolutely beautifuol and the sensitivity of a heart is at stake...This is awarenes and conciousness about the human environment...I enjoyed very much.

Dear Margeherita, forget humor, words like this are the best medicine.

Even my heartache is gone, which I've had since I was last at this place.

Beautiful write dear poetess.

Happy Valentines dear friend.

Dear Yann, thank you so much for your very special comment, yes that picture gives the idea of when that universal pain surges from deep within!

Dear Richy, you have been missed and I am so grateful that you jumped in to read my poem and commented so beautifully. I am so glad that the end of the tunnel has arrived for you. Now dance in the light again, the way you know!

Dear Bill, romantic Poet, thank you so much for your warm reply. It's always a pleasure to have your attention.

Love and joy.
Margherita
