Can the heart lose its merit?
Can it lose its strength and will to trust and love?

Burned so many times
abandoned and betrayed
in so many ways

Now a new relationship
closer, more intimate than the last
but where is the love that once beat in this breast?-

Is it the woman?
Is it the lack of a spiritual connection?

Of trust?
Of soul?

I could walk away from her tomorrow and never shed a tear.
Its not like me.

Weary? Wary?
What? Why? Where?

Are the answers?

The answers, much like the song, are blowing in the wind. Poets, philosophers, magicians and jesters have, for lo these many centuries tried to make sense of the affairs of the heart. Actually, that is a misnomer, we say we are in love with someone when we are really in lust with them. Love comes after the lust has been tempered with life itself. And we do not love with our hearts, rather it is our  brain which is captivated enough to do the foolish things "love" subjects us to.

Relax. You're okay. It's a metamorphosis in the making.

I love the way you just let your feelings flow. I know all about heartbreak. Now I chose to put my heartbreak in the past and move on. I truly enjoyed the read!!!

Give yourself some time.
If this really is about you.

I know the hurt puts up a gaurd.

Love the ending of this. All the W's needing answers.

I could walk away from her tomorrow and never shed a tear.

Hmm...seems as though it wasn't love or lust. Enjoyed.

Love is like trust- it is a choice we make...make up your mind.  That being easier said than done. I can relate.

this is a very provocative write...I found this phrase especially intriguing:

"I could walk away from her tomorrow and never shed a tear.
Its not like me."

...nice write...interesting, extremely interesting

Wow so many wonderful and different comments, advice and interpretations. All valid. JerryPat I think you are right about the metamorphosis, but metamorph into what?

Yes that its not like me lines are the most powerful and personal for me too.

Also could be right about neither lust nor love.
thanks!
