I just had to do a dedication, not for this poet, but three brothers that brought Camelot to me. This is actually two poems in one posting.

Sail The Hyannis Port Breeze

Ghostly brother figures sailing the waves of ocean sighs
Tacking upon time’s wind in History haunting imagery,
Now being united upon a billowing Massachusetts sky
Of morning hues in Hyannis Port shoreline images.

Boyhood dreams of close knit Kennedy family tradition
Sailing the currents of lunar tides weathers seafarers gray.
Young infants to boys to adults onto senior aging conditions,
One generation blossoming forth, only to then, wash away.

But walls share, the Heritage of the Irish spirit’s proud clan,
Dancing upon the wave’s jig folklore of beaming institutions,
Standing up as historical Giants, for Human-Civil Rights plans
Oh, Camelot of Fairy Tale dreams spark those elocution solutions.

Write the static sheets charged voice, as three Kennedy brothers.
And sail on the Hyannis Port breeze.

Lion Of Washington

Camelot prince, how the images sail among past memories
“Spanning the Millennial change,” the Liberal Lion of the Senate.
The honor of noble dedication, as the champion of the poor
Whose perseverance distinction stands tall beyond reproach.

Democratic icon political Kennedy giant of “We the people”
Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree of accomplishment.
Honorary knighthood of a United Kingdom Irish peace process,
Steward of communicative process of interactive procedures.

Diplomatic charisma of humility in true human compassion
Diversity of the Human and Civil Rights of divine equality.
A down to earth motivator with this magical can do attitude
Of social responsibility Duty that served all classes of Americans.

Thank you for this, DL.
Time seemed to stand still for me when I read of Edward Kennedy's passing, even though it was 'expected' and inevitable.
He was a giant in many ways, as were his brothers, his sisters, and so many of his family. We all owe the Kennedy's a thank you for all the years of public service they gave us, fighting for our political, human and civil rights.
Thanks again, for this one, it shall be in my library.

Sir songwriter!

You have written a beautiful, stirring tribute to this grand family and their sons.  I once peeked through the gate at the Kennedy Compoud in Hyannis Port and was just amazed at how beautiful it was.  A family so strong and forged by tragedy, the ultimate builder of strength.

Loved this poem!
