Hey guys,

This is Aimster. Some of you may remember me from back in the day. I had to register with a new name. Forgot my old login info Anyway enjoy!

I feel the walls crumbling all around me
As they tumble faster and faster to the ground
I search for you frantically everywhere
But you are nowhere to be found...

Why did I find you to only lose you again?
Can my heart ever be the same?
For it was inside your smile
That I realized the meaning of my name

I look around at the ruins
Debris is scattered around everywhere
Looking down I pause for a moment
Then blinking, I look up and stare

Like a beacon of light
You shined upon my soul
Reaching to the very depths of me
You somehow made me whole

You are still always there when I need you
For we are like the ocean and the sand
As I put back the missing pieces of the blocks
I wait with an outstretched hand

Some walls you can not rebuild
You must start anew
I just never thought in a million years
That would apply to me and you

"we have but a moment...only one moment"

Well, it is a stormy night in Nebraska. The lightening is flashing and the thunder is booming. So, not being able to sleep I am on the computer reading poems. I like yours or I wouldn't comment.
Yes I did so much like your last stanza. My wife and I have been married so many years: three children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren and we are still learning about each other. Every time I think I know my wife: I'm wrong!
We grew up in the same neighboorhood our parents knew each other, we played together as children, went to the same schools, had the same teachers. We went to different churches though. But still you'd think we knew each other by now.
Your poem brings up many interesting questions. I'm going to print it off and save it and read it through a few more times so I can understand it better and then reply again. Thanks

Welcome back, Amy. This is a true heartache read, poignant and passionate. I'm sorry if this is personal, it's never easy when love walks away.

The Aimster's back! Hi Amy! I was beginning to think that thou art forsaken us!

Anyhoo, you're back in the family fold ~ but with a heavy-hearted poem. If this is truly what you are experiencing, know that we're here for you. Writing helps to ease our pain and you have lots of support here among your fellow pipsters.

Your poem brought some personal notes from GBride which helped me to get to know him better as well! That was an added bonus!

Take care, Amy! You're back home among friends!

Thank you for your kind replies. I am going to stick around from now on. I have missed you all...just didn't have much time for writing and responding. But that all has to change!!
