in the shadows

Upon defiant rocks
break early twilight waves,
broken shells losing pride
hissing on these ancient sands;

piled jetties slow the ride.
I watch red setting sun
bend shadows through a mist
floating just above
rip of evening's tide.

Here alone,
though not always been,
mother
mother ocean,
I've missed you my dear friend.

Oh, what a profound moment of reuniting, dear Charlie.

This is how emotions become indelible. You write with a master's pen.

Love,

I have felt this.

Brilliant work, so blindingly brilliant.

warm salt spray
sprinkles my lips
I wade through the waves
engulfing my hips
arm held high
caressing the tide
as I find my way
back home in sea's sigh.

(Sounds like yours was lovely too.)
