Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2009-06-15 08:41 PM

Sitting softly upon blue mountains,
evening sun slowly hides away,
as the moon lights her mystic glow,
this is my heaven, resting here,

Alone with my thoughts,quietly alone,
The moon is glowing so brightly,
it is like the sun of night,
the same light after fireworks explode,

Shadows casting everywhere across the fields,
fields of houses, with soft warm glowing lights,
fireflies blinking in big tall pines,
across the meadows of green tall grass,

Peaceful, serene, tranquil, the whispers of the night,
so many thoughts come to my mind, looking,
resting back upon my elbows, I see the stars,
I can feel that soft, summer night breeze,
blowing gently across my face, through my hair,

I think about lovers long ago, lovers who stared,
at those very same stars, through the ages,
lovers who met secretly in the night,
how many wishes were made in the night,

Couples with hopes, dreams, newness,
laying in grass, making their wishes,
confessing their love to each other,
promising to love each other till the end of time,

The hoot of an owl breaks my thoughts,
my mind now back to where I am laying,
alone in a field of tall green grass,
on top of Blue Mountains, hearing the whispers of the night.

some fine 'slice of life' impressionistic imagery here!

I am especially fond of:

"I think about lovers long ago, lovers who stared,
at those very same stars, through the ages,
lovers who met secretly in the night,
how many wishes were made..."

"... promising to love each other till the end of time..."

The hoot of an owl breaks my thoughts...
  I am laying ...
alone in a field of tall green grass,
on top of Blue Mountains, hearing the whispers of the night."

sustained applause for this 'penning' (the ending in particular!)

We will make our promises there, in whispers of night.
