Frozen faced
then fatally
the flowers closed,
alongside
the rebel's final hours,
emancipated
of his stubborn pulse
a mere sugarcoating
winking falsehope
for those
that couldn't bear
his tickless clock

He passed
and wouldn't have to weather
the ivory necked ones, long
in grace, standing stems
still lifed,
but not yet extinguished

That would be
contingent
on the kindly hands
of the reaping winds.

You did a beautiful job with this.  Descript of the spirit of the hospice mission... and the leavening that takes place within its walls, and down its corridors.

You wrote this beautiful. I lost one of my patients just before Thanksgiving. Hospice was there.

Thanks for reading. Sorry to hear that Miss Rose, I do understand I do some hospice volunteering and its hard to let go though that is the actual intent in hospice
