Where will your rays of moonlight hide,
When shadows roam the dark?
Will you befriend my murky heart,
Or will you fade away?

For loneliness comes, knocking at my door,
I see him through the peephole.
I see him walk on down the road,
As I pretend there’s no one home.

Solitude waits in his flowing cape,
Waiting for me to see;
That the light at the end of the road,
Is of the cigarette between his lips.

I enjoyed that surprise ending, though I detest cigarettes (smile) it's an interesting visual image.
