When a dream of the night begets heartache
and the day so slow to arise
it’s like there’s a need to resist
the furtherance of a human life.

The dream, you see, is blissfully free
to capture within the mind’s confines
the certainty of true love
that finds its comfort and sustenance
in a level above the physical.

But down to my level it comes;
‘tis nought but a robber and thief
intent on destroying my sanity
and stealing my wish to live.

And the dream speaks, sometimes it does,
with a forked tongue like a snake
because only a snake would slither and slide
where it’s not meant to be
if not to strike then simply to fright
the humanness out of me.

The thought is there to suffer no more
this mixture that burns the mind
and so I juggle the “live or die”
today in the midst of heartache!

(Probably just a vent until I have the strength)

Oh, Helen, this hurts to read!! I know sometimes we are in this tremendous ache and have thoughts of true blackness and a lack of energy to cope.

May you be aware that you are loved and that your happiness should therefore not depend on anyone. YOU ARE LOVE and that is a truth that you can experience deep within, when you address your soul.
