I wish that I could figure out
who trapped me in this room
Who felt the need to isolate me
in this place of gloom

I guess I’m being punished,
I just wish that I knew why
I’m stuck inside a place where
light and hope are sent to die

I’m standing in a pool
of bloody tears that never rained
The drains are clogged,
so here I sit in rivers full of pain

I can’t get out because there is
a chain across the door
My only hope are these two windows
on the second floor

The shades were hard to get back up
they didn’t want to budge
I tried to clean the dirty glass
but all it did was smudge

And still as I saw figures
walking by my tainted view
They somehow seemed familiar
like the people I once knew

They always stopped to look,
because the glass was like a mirror
So close and yet so far away
their words I couldn’t hear

I wanted to get out of there
and finally figured out
If someone’s going to hear me
I would have to scream and shout

I’ve wasted too much of my life
trapped in this lonely place
There's too much of my happiness
I’ve shamefully misplaced

I’ll have to tear down all these walls
and finally break on through
I’m getting out of here if its
the last thing that I do

I started pounding with my fists
till they were red and raw
I fell down to my knees,
and in a pool of tears I saw

My own reflection looking back
and yelling in my ears
You’re lost within your mind because
your trapped inside your fears!

Freedom of expression is our, write.

Perhaps you should read what FDR said.

"The only thing we got to fear, is fear itself."

A great and wise president.

Thanks as always for all of your kind support Ida. I do so appreciate it.

This one - couldn't respond at first.  Find it a little scary.  That is a good response Richy.  Fear is scary and you captured it well.

Thanks Deb, yeah, a little bit different than what you're probably used to me writing about isn't it? lol.

This was written years ago, during a very prolonged illness, yech... not the very best of times.

Ups and downs, highs and lows, life's got 'em all doesn't it?

Sorry it scared you.
Our fears, are scary.
I was just one of the lucky ones who won
that battle.

Now the war, well that's a different story.

The war is won by battles.  Sounds to me, like you are doing it!

Oh and by the way, get back to the ooey, gooey, richly dripping with sugary sweetness, romantic stuff! haha... just kidding.  Emotions, ALL emotions, are worthy and should be written about.  They are a part of who we are and we learn from them.  Of course, this little pisces thinks everything is a learning experience on this realm - can be scary but most definetly worthy. I'm glad you put this one up here.

Thank you, dear Richy, for sharing this impressive poem about the danger of being overwhelmed by fear.

Good to know you were aware of its tremendous consequences and succeeded in freeing yourself from its grip.

Love,
Margherita

I think I know why you were "stuck inside a place where / light and hope are sent to die".

I think there were 3 main reasons.

I think the first was so that you could learn the wisdom you now have that it is ultimately up to you to save yourself from your fears and all else negative.

I think the second reason was so that you could develop your wisdom, sensitivity, caring kindness and compassion more and more every day.

I think the third reason is so that you could shower that wisdom, sensitivity, caring kindness and compassion on us and all you know and meet and who hang on your every word.

i cant put it words...
i have had that feeling before,
that's why it's familiar.
it captured the intense feeling of fear, confusion amd panic..
it's emotional hardcore.

Anxiety and fear wonderfully expressed , when we sink as low as we can go , we can on inner strength and the only way is up
