I could stare
Without my eyes
While she sat
With her legs laced
Like an unforgiving knot
Staring out the frosty window.

Her black midnight dress,
Heels like polish
To her pale dew skin,
And she sat staring,
Quietly, the way her umbrella
Shed silence from
The rain shrilled event that morning.

Her reflection on the windowsill,
She looked up past noon,
My rain dipped suit, blue opaque eyes,
Exchanged a warm yawn,
As her lips moved away,
To a smile.
