Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2008-03-14 01:21 AM

A thought flits, then flies off.
It could have been a poem,
I don’t know;
it is gone – like that!
Like a finger snap!

I told him that I was driving
and writing a poem in the silence.
He asked “Really?” and laughed.
Like he doesn’t create
stories to amuse me
and keep me warm.

Then I was thinking how funny it is
that some people can reach out -
inspire a connection.
Laughter, dreams,
history woven.

I think a lot when darkness shines
through my window panes,
music welling.
A nocturnal garden
of words planted,

sprout nighttime thoughts
blooming into dreams.

---

I especially like those

"sprout(ing) nighttime thoughts
blooming into dreams(!)"

AND:

that "nocturnal garden
of words"

applause!

I think a lot when darkness shines
Through my window panes
And in my thoughts our love entwines
Deep in both our heart's domain.

Alison my dear please forgive me for adding a couple of lines to your wonderful poem,
You are indeed a talented lady

Simon,

Thank you.  It's funny how that happens isn't it.  One moment the poem is there, wonderfully expressive and then --- it's like only a vast space filled with the question "where did it go" remains.
