He told it?
Whispered sights into
the ear of
Odin. From across
the world he
flew, aisy osying
over land and
mountain, through storm
and fast floods.
Keen from the
eating of eyes,
his magic, black
as his pupils
and sleek feathers.
Bran arrives from
gloaming dreams into
our days, gliding
into our souls.

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky, ring out the old, ring in the new, ring out the false, ring in the true..A Lord Tennyson

I love ravens. They can be such mysterious characters, always carrying some dark secrets 'neath their wings.
In Norse mythology, Odin had two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, who flew out nightly to gather information. Celtic lore has Morrigan, Bran, and Lugh. Many Native Americans revere this feathered trickster.
My first 'encounter' with ravens was via Poe.
Sorry for the ramble...

seems a blending of Norse and Celtic mythology?

interesting!

my favorite painting [Germanic impressionism]
is the "Krahe"...the grand enigmatic raven (wearing
boots) marching across seemingly endless, barren,
winteresque fields!

Oh I do like the way his magic is as black as his feathers.  That's a gleamy black, to be sure.  Nicely done.

Nan (Pilgrim variety)
