There is no longer fear of losing
what has already been lost.
There is no remorse for the lack of tears
that quit flowing so long ago
that I cannot remember the sting,

or how they burned on flesh
as they rolled down cheeks
in what, at one time
seemed to come in endless supply.

I cannot harbor ill feelings
without risking the cost
of re-damaging a once broken soul
that wishes to not feel the
darkness regain control.

There is no anger,
nor is there any joy

there is only left remaining
the heavy hollowness

of doubt.

after a fall I get back up,
move on 'cause the past is the past and theres no tomorrow if remaining in still waters while the river flows on ~dsmith

Very good write! Perhaps allowing vulnerability again is the saviour of the soul for then it knows that it hasn't lost it's true essence. Love heals if we let it.
