Recollections Realizations and Contemplation
(A Cigar a Beer, and an old Rocking chair)

I strummed the hue of sky and cirrus vapor:
reaching high, too high, and to no gain…
Too high… Not enough air, none to breath.
My mind gasping for a breath yielding only stupor:
Aspirating aspirations, too much too soon!
Maybe, too many…

Useless, as it were - striking a wet match to stone.
Or perhaps seafaring a schooner towed by its yawl to the moon.
Or fishing for brown trout in a Montana mountain stream
wearing orange overalls as a suit…

The math was there.  The figures were clear…
I could see it, without a doubt I would have results.
All the figures surely would compute.
Yet, it failed… I failed… Faded forever away.

Elusive now - a warming smile, charmed banter of affections,
yielding of differences so as to savor that invisible thread betweens us.
Elusive: a fading shadow warping from view…
Ever more opaque… With the days passing - days after days.
The math for computing tomorrow just wasn’t there, was it?

Maybe the dream was too big… Too creative… Too much color,
Or maybe too one sided…  No foundation in the formula.
Oh, but it was an adventure… Wasn’t it?
But then that’s the problem with adventures they too soon end…
Yet without the scheme for life, living would be so much duller…

this relays sadness, yet understanding....and as you are...in a greatness of difficulties, you realize what wasn't in the cards, can still be....you know you haven't failed anything or anyone...it is simply life...the ups and downs we set for ourselves....you wanna fish in Montana in an orange suit...go for it...there isn't anything you can't do.

This write was marvelously done...new format and loved the abstract visuals....

They do say that when one door closes another one opens.  We just have to believe it is so.  Enjoyed this very much, JL!  I'm mostly in a contemplative mood but now more so.

There is a distinctive art to
recollections, realizations...

and reflections [contemplation].

I'm glad you sat
in that rocking chair.

JL ~

"Maybe the dream was too big…"

~ I doubt that the dream could ever be too big for you, Tex Man! I hear everything grows big in Texas!

For my recent birthday, I received a silver bracelet with a huge, solid silver charm  that had engraved on it ~ "When you dream ~ Dream big!" ~ and that is exactly what I'm doing!

This reflective write was beautifully written.

Well sweet lady, things are bigger in Texas, and sometimes too big, especially my dreams!  Heeeheee.  But I do get your point, it’s very true… within reason.
But thank you for being so sweet.
