A sizzling summer sun slips
past twin sister mountains.
Fire-sapphires sparkle in the ebony sky,
like notes capriciously coaxed
from some sultry alto sax
or luminescent fireflies reflected
in a wandering glider's eyes,
a choreography of gods and goddesses,
undulating bodies twirling
amid swirling stardust-skirts
dancing on the winds of time.

In carefree abandonment,
the night-sky lights beckon...
will you dance with me?

An underscore of alliteration sings
through this...

well done!

As for dancing with you?

Only if I can do so, in my bare feet!

This fine poet ‘writes’ Nature
with “Thoreauvian purity”!

I am especially fond of:

“luminescent fireflies reflected
in a wandering glider's eyes(!)”;

AND:

“…choreography…

swirling stardust-skirts
dancing on the winds of time.

In carefree abandonment,
the night-sky lights beckon...
will you dance with me?(!)”

serious, long-sustained applause!!

Kacy,
Sure would sis, but I can't keep up with where you are!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

"from some sultry alto sax" any music that is heard from the above will have me on my feet, bare foot or otherwise. A beautiful night scene. Thank you. latearival

Kathleen... such a spectacular sensual scene. Who could resist the imagery.
