fairy tales

by a grassy knoll
Camelot came silent
& strong in New Orleans
like a think tank knight
while the inlet of swines
failed their space wallops
Warren got his way
behind a fairy tail named
by a master writer of plays
"tramps" the actors of injustice
impersonal press
leaving  ripples behind
of a lone hired gun
framed by a fairy tale
all written before
by a stamp shakin it's head
while a VP screams
like a hoover vacuum
where "they" bombarding me?
demons of skull and bones
special elite
a beheading was quick & neat
caught in the single luminary state
convertible misbehaves
because he wanted change
because he wanted change
in the life of his eccentric career
the notary went down to 544 camp
stone rolled away
continuous hidings
leaving talking arguments
by four hired guns
confronted with power
from a house of cards
was not accessible by phone
for an hour
king arthor's men stood down
parchments burned
by the forces of humanity's spoon
what will
in seventy five years reveal
deceptions will not suffice
smoke from burning little minds
their game is power without truth
in a sense of passing time
not unlike Ceasar's demise
as Tennyson spoke
authority forgets a dying king
by sealing the grave
while a body remained
still and warm
a body
for the neighborhood
and by the populace
is hope....
is duty...
like nobody
or nothing else
the day
our dreams
lost their lives
the day
JFK
died

you have done an excellent job on this one...that opener is enough to put everyone's thinking cap on and begin the quest of searching for nuggets.  It is an effective way to write about that which has affected all who lived through it.  thank you.

Okay.

Hmmm.

I'm gonna go there.

'Cause um, as a resident, I have seen both fairy tales and fairy tails here in New Orleans, and our ogres become heroes become ogre again.

It's downright Hobbitual.

So I wouldn't mind an explanation on this'n, Lee, if you might indulge me a bit?

I still got glitter in my eyes from the party. (And no, I didn't go, but I sent forth trolls to bring home treasures.)

gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Poem Interpretation for Karen

by a grassy knoll (where the Presidential Train rounded & Kennedy was shot)
Camelot came silent (Jim Garrison, Former District Attorney of New Orleans)
& strong in New Orleans
like a think tank knight
while the inlet of swine's (Bay Of Pigs)
failed their space wallops (air strikes)
Warren got his way (The Warren Commission)
behind a fairy tail named
by a master writer of plays (Oliver Stone)
"tramps" the actors of injustice (political tramps)
impersonal press
leaving  ripples behind
of a lone hired gun (Oswald)
framed by a fairy tale (told by L. Fletcher Prouty, a CIA Agent who claimed to have belonged to OpX and highly secretive agency, who in fact assassinated people)
all written before  (planned ahead)
by a stamp shakin it's head (Warren Documents Sealed against public examination)
while a VP screams  (Johnson)
like a hoover vacuum  (J. Edgar Hoover)
where "they" bombarding me?  (during the shooting it is said that Johnson was heard screaming this)
demons of skull and bones ( the members of a secret society (skull & bones) based at Yale)
special elite
a beheading was quick & neat (the assassination)
caught in the single luminary state (The Lone Star State)
convertible misbehaves (the convertible's top was down)
because he wanted change
because he wanted change
in the life of his eccentric career (He was a left wing martyr who wanted peace)
the notary went down to 544 camp (Conspiracy books claim Oswald had an office at 544 Camp Street in New Orleans)
stone rolled away (Stone made the movie)
continuous hidings
leaving talking arguments
by four hired guns (Jim Garrison's theory of the shooting)
confronted with power
from a house of cards (Washington)
was not accessible by phone (Garrison claims Washington's phones were out for an hour during the assignation)
for an hour
king arthor's men stood down ( Kennedy's body guards, FBI and CIA agents supposedly were told to stand down and not surround the convertible)
parchments burned ( supposedly a lot of information was burned by government officials)
by the forces of humanity's spoon
what will
in seventy five years reveal (When the Warren Documents will be made available to the public)
deceptions will not suffice
smoke from burning little minds
their game is power without truth
in a sense of passing time
not unlike Ceasar's demise (those closest to Ceasar, killed him)
as Tennyson spoke
authority forgets a dying king ( A quote by Tennyson)
by sealing the grave
while a body remained
still and warm
a body
for the neighborhood (for the USA)
and by the populace
is hope....
is duty...
like nobody
or nothing else
the day
our dreams
lost their lives
the day
JFK
died

poem was Inspired by the Movie JFK

Jim Garrison, a Democratic District attorney of Orleans Parish, LA, investigated the assassination of President Kennedy linking Clay Shaw (a suspected CIA Agent)of New Orleans, for conspiring to assassinate Kennedy but was acquitted.  According to Garrison, Shaw was the secretive Clay Bertrand of the Warren Commission, which was the investigation of the assassination. Jim Garrison tried to prove the Warren Commission was altered.  It concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted all by himself in the killing of Kennedy.  Adding, the Warren Commission's findings have been awfully controversial and has repeatedly been challenged.  There were so many unanswered details and still are.

Fact The Reality
Former Vice President Richard M. Nixon, who left Dallas only a few hours before President Kennedy was shot to death on a city street, had made a prophetic plea for the chief executive's safety?

Jim Garrison became so obsessed with proving Kennedy was assassinated by our own people that he lost his wife, career, credibility…was discharged from the military…he was also evaluated as being mentally incompetent and it was said, his theories changed again and again.  He was totally discredited.  When Jim Garrison died,

Quote by Jim Garrison "Fascism will come to America in the guise of National Security"

WHOA!  This is ultra powerful.  It was powerful before I read your explanation, but afterward, BAM!  It sure makes one think-especially the last quote...

You are such a brilliant writer!  I enjoy reading your poetry.  Thanks for the explanation, too.  I often wonder how close I am to understanding.  This time, I was on the right track, but you had several phrases that I knew were meaningful, of which I had no clue.  Thanks for the info.

Good morning, Lee! I know that there is more going on, in, and around, your poetry than what  I usually am picking up on  ~ and your fascinating and informative explanation to our Serene One, just proved that out! lol

You are a poet with a mind to match!

Loves 'n hugs,

"the day
our dreams
lost their lives
the day
JFK
died"

I remember the day well, and the circumstances leading up to the event, and the events that followed.
JFK said in one of his speeches that there was an under-current in this country to compromise our freedoms and our solidarity as a people. [I'm paraphrasing].
It has taken a long time, but it's here.

Great write Lee J.

Yep.

That's what I thought.

No, seriously, I don't know if it still exists, but that spot was once part of a walking tour in here in New Orleans. (You know, where they point out that particular corner, where coincidentally or not, all those places were within pointing range.)

Oliver Stone is a controversy unto himself, too. I'm not sure how I feel about that stuff--he also took some artistic liscence with Jim Morrison's story too, and he tells a story so well it's quite easy to forget it isn't all necessarily fact. But I remain a fan of his, and ever a fan of YOURS, dear lady.

and neat that you did that line for line for me--thanks so much for taking the time!

I love ya bunches, gorgeous!

A masterful write.
Stone used his Hollywood license in the making of that movie, but it was interesting, wasn't it?
