Beyond...

I wonder of becoming 'old'
relegated to a park bench cold
and those watched beyond our fold...

The frames and silhouettes we see
not so strange, like you and me,
beyond the mirror of our eyes,

Ourselves reflected in disguise?
In the quiet of the stare,
beyond the touch we seek to share;

Beyond the stillness breathing there
Life unfolds, we pay our dues
shadow boxed in window views.

I pictured an old woman sitting in her rocking chair at sunset. Seemingly bored and wishing someone would visit to hear her stories. I don't fear aging but also wish I didnt look so old. Im 29 and people think Im 40. Thats where age scares me. I liked reading this.

I wonder too. Perhaps the bench will be warm, you never know...I am finding though that as I grow the kinder I see me. A thought-filled poem.
