space heater
won't you find room
to keep my heart
while I turn to automatic
times like these
can be saved
times like these
can be preserved
and pushed around
like dust underneath my proverbial broom

no
the world is not crumbling
beneath these sturdy feet
because I am a mountain
built on stories
rocks of imperfection
hidden by glorified lies

to tell the truth
is to dig my own grave
filled to the top
with fake roses

will you still love me
if I am but a figment
of who I wish I were

will you still love me
when I forget who I am

I fear
when the clock has counted down
and I am stripped of my layers
left cold and bare
that no words will save me
from myself

Chelsea, it has been my pleasure to watch you grow as a poet in the time that you have been among us at Pips, and in my honest opinion, this is truly one of your most excellent pieces.  Nicely done, Lady Chelsea....nicely done indeed.

and let your soul be cleansed by
the fire of love.  Axel Ekenstierna

exhale
Expressing ones self is a mark of wisdom.
Following through is the next step.
Enjoyed the read.

..."will you still love me
if I am but a figment
of who I wish I were"...

This verse echoed volumes of courage and humanity.  Nobel, is the heart that wrote this.
