Animal

Words have rained upon me
Flowed from my ruby lips
Words have become and destroyed me
So why hide it any longer

Water rules the oceans
Air commands the sky
I wish I were a part of them
For these things never die

Secrets weld the harden souls
To a heavy ball and chain
Secrets bury all the life
They dare, reject, and pain

The sun stars in the heavens
Man dictates on the ground
And yet the sun still scorches us
Our immunity unfound

Words have stabbed the warrior
In a pain much more acute
That the piercing of the blade or spear
That drew their thick red blood

Words have now no meaning
As our promises dissolve
Without this power we alone have
We are Animal

Hey Kate! It's been a while. It seems we've both been absent...
Anyway, I really liked this one, it has a lot of truth to it (to me).

Incidentily, I watched the movie ur quote came from over Christmas. O.o
