A canary, captive and caged, conditioned to single page newsprint and day old water.
And the Boar, feeding tiny seeds one miniscule piece at a time. He is the keeper of the cage, and key.

She longs for free flight and fresh grass below her wings, soaring to dreams, and experiencing wild things, that this cage and Boar would never allow.

A canary , captive and caged, imagining loftier perches; searches for an escape, a weak link, to set herself free and be once again, amongst the breeze and bulwarks of  green forests and freedom.

Her regret comes from youthful blindness and infatuation. Her “What ifs” casting shadows of doubt and denial of her own abilities to take to wing and soar amongst clouds and clandestine daylight moons, burning dim amongst powder blues and white hues of cirrus, cotton gifts.

A canary captive, and caged, testing the air for Boar’s foulness, gambles on the dance,
Chancing perhaps, to lift the door and fly out and away. Searching for a fresh current of warming air. To be conveyed by Thermals freedom, rising ever higher to viewpoint, and peace of mind, peace of wing, peace of self.

A tiny canary, freed at last
