Still….those waters that run deep… The clouds that stand lifeless high Above, the statue that gazes skyward, half Naked except for a figs leaf…blank eyes Unblinking…a portrait of a thousand years Past…A simple memory of a great one whose Hands delicately touched the smooth stone From whence life was born and cast immortal. The fountain where wishes still sprinkle the water as lover's eyes flit and tease and a simple coin darts and weaves to the perilous depths. Still…the bloods that rise and fall within My veins as a thought brings to my heart A sudden skip…and then, a moment having Passed as would a shallow but endless Wave…and the tides of my heart rage on. For now, still be the mind and lonesome Be the soul….as hands trace hearts on The steamed mirror….just before the Crack, the fall of a jagged portrait and the end of what was but a dream, and nothing more. |

Barry, "But a dream and nothing more," I would say not. For the dream is the nectar of the butterfly. and where would the world be without a butterfly? |
