Above the Rest

I could not e'en see them, but knew that they were there,
yawning, biding lilac scent, so heavy in the air,
hidden to dwell in a loving, special place to find

memories streaming from recesses, deep within my mind.

Lingering in some deep purplish, silk-like floating mist
as if some harbored memory could, should still exist
perhaps in some drawer of fantasy’s swift rewind

memories streaming from recesses, deep within my mind.

And suddenly wafts of thought, caught upon gentle breeze
past purple moments now sought, reflections in reprise
where yesterday, then the present, are truly entwined

memories streaming from recesses, deep within my mind.

Come, hyacinth, magnolia, love’s deep rose’d perfume
make way for sheer lilac instant, caught now in full bloom
for she is a moment with us, gone quick in some time

memories streaming from recesses, deep within my mind.

It is good to see that two of our ladies
have taken a moment from their hectic lives
to gift us with such a pleasurable read.

Contagious, isn't it?

Thank you, each so much for stopping by to enjoy the scents with us! I grew up with lilacs surrounding me, and now have none near me but seeing this beautiful pic,
and smelling them when I burn my favorite candle sure does give me that escape into yesterday, even if for just a lil while.

MommaK?  huggin you and whispering thank you....

Honeysuckle is another favorite.  Anything that pulls in the senses, should be written of, if for no other reason, to awaken the concrete walkers to what the country folk know of.

Write, Poets.  Write of what awakens memories, and lend your knowledge to those who never leave a screen.
