The Living Of The Dead

Who will venture forth today
Against terror and violence instead
That took the ones of the living once
Still living among the dead

Who will try to overcome now
Hatred and bigotry instead
That thrived among the living ones
And thrives long after the dead.

Who will kindle the spirit now
Of hopes and dreams instead
That flared among the living once
And now lies among the dead

Who will evoke the love now
For one and all instead
To soothe the pain of the living ones
That still mourn the dead

Who will carry the banner now
Of peace and amity instead
A legacy for the living ones
That will live beyond the dead

Peace seems like an overwhelming task for one...but everyone together doing their part can make all the difference in the world

anwaar, it's been awhile since I have had the pleasure of reading your work. This poem stirs the heart and soul of this reader. May we each do our part, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to bring peace to the world. It has an accumulative effect.

~ and we should never underestimate the power of prayer.

A sincere and compassionate write. You are doing your part by speaking out through this poem.

God bless you,

Love, Light, Harmony & Peace,
EA
