Exchange me for a nickel
An alloy so strong
Give me five good censes
A voice to sing along.

Exchange me for a penny
So I might shine with worth
Doubled twice in value
From copper during birth.

For two good pennies of a thought
I would gladly give a dime
Once again to hear you
Again in rhythm rhyme.

Kaci,
Whimsy?  This was all in complete seriousness!  OK... I am in a whimsical mood. I have a day off work!!! Yea!  Now, Kaci, there was a challenge at the end to rhyme...  Are you up for Exchanging a penny, nickel or a rhyme?

if I can make a rhyme
you owe me a dime
if I can make you holler
you owe me a dollar

that was the first rhyme I ever conjured up, at the age of five, attempting to get some piggybank money out of my dad
he gave me a five I think
but of course, mom took it away
and that nearly ended
my poetic attempts

an ingenius little gal you were (and are!);

glad you continued to trudge on as a poet and scholar, regardless of the loss of that five dollar!

I cannot give you rhythm and rhyme
words won’t come out that way
I tried to take a little time
but I don’t have all day

Do I get a dime?

I love this delight!

Only just a shilling
Told the 'Press'
No way
I doubled in value
If I wasn't at sea that day

No I'm not a cooper
But hell doesn't care
I hadn't volunteered
So doubled in value

For their

two good pennies of a thought

Again in rhythm rhyme

Always the pressed

Get pushed upto

The line

Lady,

Definitely, I'll send you my ten cents worth!  Thanks for the smile!

Dave,

Now your rhyme has me thinking.  I know I should know this, but how much is a shilling in U.S. currency?  Enjoyed your rhyme!  Thanks for the fun!

Ratleader,

My mind is slow tonight!  Cycle?  Ah, short i!  Nickel for a cycle!  "I don't want a pickle; Just wanna ride on my motorcycle..."  Now I'm going to
hear that song in all night and in my dreams!  Yikes Bikes!  Thanks for the grin.

A penny for my thoughts?  You must have sent it because I found one today on the sidewalk outside the grocery store!  (I'm still waiting for its luck!)  Thanks for reading.  Hey, I'll consider that my luck!

Cute and clever!
~ Just like you!
Your copper penny's
Worth a buck or two!

Is my rhyming poem
Worth it's weight in pay?
Twelve coins of gold
Would make my day!
Gold Coins

For the love of moolah,

Linda

Earth Angel, yes it's true
twelve gold dollars
expressed to you!

Sooooo good to hear from you again.  I have been making my rounds here and was just thinking about you when your name appeared on my post.  EXTRA cent-u-ree perception, I'd say!   I had planned it the other way round!

Jess,

Wow!  I hit the jackpot!  Thanks, haven't been first for years!  Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket today.  Yesterday a magic penny and now, this flattering comment!  If I win, I'll share some of it with you!
