Another old...something   ::shrugs::
Spring house cleaning.  Been cleaning out the shed...throwing stuff away so I can clean out the house and put stuff in the shed so I can throw it away at a future date.   Anyway...found this.  For what its worth.
          Road to Recovery
           **********

Here I am again...
Alone and pushing on

Shadows moving in
for another gloomy dawn

Interstates and railroad tracks
are always willing to take you back.

But, Oh Lord, its such a hard road
When you're busted up and growing old

Still on the road to recovery

Memories from the past
Cloud the rising sun

Loves that didnt last
Plans that went undone

Late at night...
the scenes
from so many broken dreams
Play on my mind
like a movie screen

Then comes the sun
and I've just begun

The road to recovery

Trying to remember...
How did it all start?

Trying to get over
wandering minds
and restless hearts

Many who thought
they had my cure and more
only added to the reasons for

the road to recovery

Everyone I know is hurtin'
There's no secret there,

But some are toting burdens
that are just too great to bear.

Some have hearts...
hard, scarred and torn.

Some hide from the world
in which they were born.

On the road to recovery

The stories are not the same
They change from face to face

Some have lost everything
with nothing to take its place.

If they're waging war
for the peace they crave

or drinking late at night
to an early grave

Its just the road to recovery

Nothing seems to change...

Out here, all alone...

Those,  with no place left to go
Say the highway is their home.

There are those who are learning
and there are those who are knowing...
You're out here because
You don't know where you're going

Just going...

On the road to recovery.

Oh, my friend (and, after reading this, I am your friend)...

Oh, I do like this:

"Interstates and railroad tracks
are always willing to take you back."

Great job....hit's home!
