.
Down inside my mind
it seems
to me,
while I am lost in time,
to be more easy to raise the dead
from the bliss of sleep and deep reflection
than to stand and say,
“This is wrong,”
while steeped in dreams
of searching for a rhyme,
fumbling blindly in the clinging dark
for a handhold of inspiration
by which I might start to pull me out of here,
here,
where stating truth,
without philosophical media polemics
without kudos from cloying wannabes of correctness
without pandering to politicos
caught up in loin inflamed
surging hot lust for power,
is held to be an act of incarnate evil
where empty morality means more
than empty bellies
more than ever might it be
to try to muster hope
to raise children
to break the cycle
of the living children
born themselves of children’s children
back as far as any memory defines,
openly to draw the lines
simply to stand and say,
“This is wrong.”

It only takes one person to say, "this is wrong"...and maybe that is all that one person can do.  Yet it never seems to be enough....There is too much wrong...but one person can effect a few, and a few a few.  If you do the math you end up with many...

Write your heart, and they will love you;
write your mind, and they will hate.
Write your soul; they will not understand.

icebox - As hard as it is to understand, it is really enough that you say it to yourself and those close to you.  The cycle gets broken one person, one family, at a time and this perhaps for a future world that's busy evolving.  The cycle of the world has already been set and it will reach its end accordingly just as each one of us will do so according to our deeds and thoughts - a thought being the truth that lives until it becomes a "thing" - maybe.  Thank you for always "thinking" and passing on those thoughts to us.

Brilliant philosophising!  Reminds me of the brilliant simplicity of the lines of a Greek temple, clothed in complex beauty, and the two blended to perfection!
