Love is lost through a mirror of time passages
A heart is strangled in the heat of passion
What once was tenderness is now a deadly game
What used to be truth is now sheltered shame

There was a time when love was given with grace
Fooled by illusions now sex takes its place
What used to take time to create and a need to care
Takes no more than a drink and a body to bare

Taken over by sexual temptation
An act of love becomes just a situation
To whom it is made is irrelevant
As long as it is made love may stay distant

But on a long and lonely night
It is shame’s candle burning bright
Until true love’s candle is lit with honest desire
Any spark that may occur will never be fire
