in the land of yore

Into the darkness rides a lone knight,
Into the wind and rain;
His heart holds a deed to a forfeited love
And upon his face lives pain.

Dark shadow of sorrow follows the knight
Beyond the farthest wold;
The knight and the shadow together as one,
Bound in a perfect hold.

‘Tis a strange consort to company keep,
Blind is leading the blind;
This shuttered cell all his mind sees,
And all that his heart can find.

But the key to his cell is within his reach
Tied to a heart of a maid;
Blazing bright into the darkness of night
And banning the bars of shade.

Do open your eyes, and release your heart,
Shatter the confines of pain;
Reach for the key of the love that is pure
And unshackle sorrow’s chain.

Into the light now rides a true knight,
Into the light of the sun;
His heart holds a key to a renewed love,
And pain on his face is none.

Oh dear troubadour...sigh... you certainly can write. I admire your work.

Oh, Knight,

How I have waited for your words, morning, noon, and night, my heart has paced.
For I have been awaiting your sweet return.

'tis your words that bring joy to this heart~
