It is not breathing, that makes me breathe
This vision of you dancing inside my speechless heart;
That sometimes you dance, that each step replies
To the beating of the heart, shall you dance forever for my sake;
That this vessel which carries my consciousness shall not fail,
And all I long to do is smile on a season of changing thoughts;
That tastes all parts of you, and the lasting kisses of goodbye
Be sat upon my lap in an alienated feeling of sorrow;
It is not love to know, --but to know
That seasons know the change, which heart shall feel first
like first light touches upon these eyes be blinding
And hearts shall be numb with those findings of love
So duty to that oft called the soul,--and the connectivity
Over past and past away, there is time in-between the dates
No heart could ever know the time of its death
Or the knowing of its first heartbeat.

Enjoyed reading this poem, you write love, slightly shadowed and withdrawn into corners, it is there...and gone and back again..but always dark...your choice of words are very good...and your poems overall are always more than worthy ..thank you..for the words..

There is often a haunting feel to your poems of love. I get swept up in them and know not where I will be taken.

Your closing lines are always memorable.

Warm hug,
Linda
