Less than me
it's less than me
a hotspot
in Atlantic sea
persuasive
of the things that we
find gathering so grand

whip a wind around my face
take an edge of me and trace
possibilities
and maps
and three degrees
is more than apt
of what this needs to be

to be

free of questions
that are asked

does it matter?
that's their ass
too bad they didn't vote for me

'cause now I am allowed last laugh"

as I sit here on my ranch
I have wisdom no one knows
cattle--standing in repose
as the nights are days

I know

the art of moonless skies

as I

watch them, toppling
the lies
while I was asleep...
but those

are farmers I don't understand
someone chop a line
I am
missing chromosome and "Y"
is a chalice to be filled
and I know, I know,
there's still
answers that you seek
and pills
paid their bills of Merck
and ills
are created by the bliss
of what they usedta do
it is
murder anyway...

I wish--

I was never president
or chosen
to be "it"
this is

much too much for just one man
so I'm allowed the precedent
of doing what I think I must
because my job is based on trust

and a second of delay--

cows, they hit the ground that way--

sleeping in the field.

Just checking in to wave at you all, and yep, the party is over, and we have new news to get us worked up enough to continue clean up.

I wish I had more to say, than "thank you" and it's just so surreal here at times.

Hard to believe at times--there are still 15 to 1600 people missing, and the hope is that they will find three hundred bodies in the debris and the rest are merely paperwork snafus regarding tracking/tracing refugees. That is a very strange thing to type. Shaking my head.

That's what I mean--surreal--and heartbreaking.

In the midst of all this, some days it's hard to feel blessed.

But I yam.

thanks for reading and I love you all, and yep, I'm hanging in there.

This is a fine tale of pathetic lack of caring by those whose job it is to care.  Bless you for keeping the story alive.  We all know IWIWT, but for this one I've ISGIRT! (I'm so glad I read this!)  Hugs, Ken

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Karen, I always gobble up your words quickly on my first read through of your poems. Then, on the second time around, I chew your words slowly to savour and digest each mot thoroughly!

Big hugs to you,
Linda

Well, m'lady, I'll just say I like your poem and I think it's witty and oh so true....and leave it at that.
