If you were told of my life
over the course of this year
you would probably not believe
all of that which you would hear..

Yet, here I am;
on my feet still standing
as life revolves around me

constantly demanding

my shoulders to carry
this heavy burden,
this weight
this struggle of reaching tomorrow
and all that it could create.

I've been plummeted by
the torrential rain....
I've kicked and I've clawed
to get beyond
the heartache,

the pain…….

Of my past?
No, you'll not hear me mourn
new struggles renew my strength
to make it through each coming storm.

I'll balance this load
the best that I can
and I'll leave the rest
to be held,

in destinies hands.
