Never close enough

0 posted 2005-07-18 09:57 PM

I've scattered those memories
a few here, a few there
no more than a handful
in the same place

It gets crowded
really fast,
when the thoughts
start adding up

Said my goodbyes
turned and walked
away

The memories
well now,
they followed suit
must've been
in my back pocket

When I ran like hell

To escape yesterday
blind-sided by tomorrow
My today's
just all faded away

I put him on a shelf
to gather dust
with the rest
everything, that must

I dare not phone
I know what he'll say

One day your gonna be sorry
when I'm dead, and gone away

How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

Made me think of a comment I made to my older son, when he was really upset with his mother...I told him to try to forgive her and get along, because you only have one Mom....James

this was thought provoking, we so take those close to us for granted, until they are no longer there, and then....those heavy weight issues, seem irrelevant and miniscule, compared to the loss of someone we loved so dearly...

It gets crowded
really fast,
when the thoughts
start adding up

yes, it does, and thats when we have options, to decide which thoughts are small and which ones need to be addressed.

Hugs to you and thank you

It is usually best to put away people when they do not treat us as we should be treated...they no longer have a right.

Reading this, I think too much. I hope none of my thoughts are true (which is a pretty fair bet lately!)....either way though, this poem scintillates! Up it goes!
