Listening to every heart

Los Angeles

How might we sing through
our trials, and hurts

so much so
that questing angels would smile,
even as they might beg
to understand
the knowing of this moment of living

when all they can do
is guide us…to a light…

Tell me how
we might breathe in
life’s blood
just to spit out the gravel
of our falls, our losses…

so much so,
that those very angels might laugh
at our hysterical joy

in the because of
because, Oh,

for they may appreciate
some brilliantine, some most vivid sense
of colors, sounds, and warmth…

but what do angels know
from living

in joy of trial?

Oh, to live a time                  such
                                                       that an angel
                                                                  would laugh…

at the sound of my fall
into life.

~*~

For a friend,
that she may
find herself...

And I just watched "City of Angels"...and
served myself a hankie...IF only angels
felt our pains...perhaps they do?

Beautifully written dear lady.

Karilea, you write with such ease of expression. Excellent. Big hugs, Chrislane

Me, too....I mean, this reminded me of the movie.  I think they must delight in all our endeavors. But who knows about the trials....I think we become "like angels" when we rejoice in them, though.  Much enjoyed this one. ....jo

its hard to find your way around that city
that I often thought was misnamed
then again, you have to keep your eyes
on something other than the freeways

wow, this is powerful, and if angels could feel pain, then they can quickly relate to the human life here

Sunshine,

Your beautiful poem is quite a gift to us all.  Your friend must be quite an inspiration.  You are so eloquent in thought and word.

Once again evidence of friendship that provides value multiplied beyond the words of expression. Done only as you can.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

be a light to her darkness

I could try to quote a favorite part... but I'd end up repeating your poem in its entirety... so instead of trying to convey what I like best of this, I'll just say... it's drawn me back again and again. *S*

Beautiful work!
