Looking Through Another's Eyes

quote:
Contentment

Yes, there is a Nirvanah;
it is leading your sheep
to a green pasture,
and in putting your child to sleep,
and in writing the last line of your poem.

-Kahlil Gibran

I would find Nirvanah
for although I have not one sheep,
I do have one green pasture
and in that pasture I would seek
Nirvanah

I would find heaven's door
in that green pasture
where a child lays in slumber
though not guarding one sheep,
in Nirvanah

Where is your Nirvanah?
Indeed, is it in writing the
last line to your poem?
And did you sweat and toil
and trouble yourself so?

Or is it only a rambling of
words that will not give
meaning nor pleasure,
and shame may come of it,
in Nirvanah?

When my time comes, and
I would dwell in the place
of Nirvanah, if I may but
grace Him and share with Him
my toil of words,

I will then be in Nirvanah.

~*~

Sissie

I'm looking at that pasture...and it feels mighty good through your eyes.  Thank you.

Life is a poem and love is a very different poem....one has a last line, the other doesn't.

How beautiful, dear Karilea ... Nirvana is a great place to be!

Incredibly, I have just admired (on internet) a picture of a pasture with sheep by the symbolist Giovanni Segantini.

See:

How near Nirvanah must be when you speak the launguage of angels. Words of spun gold from a heart noble and pure. Blessed are we who glimpse Nirvanah through your eyes.

Seems like a good thing to be thinking about tonight...Nirvanah....yes a calming thought, much needed.  Also, it gets me to thinking about what my heaven on earth is -- oh!  there are so many pieces of Nirvanah here!   ....jo

Karilea, your poetry does indeed bring a sense of peace and nirvanah.

Your toil, your empathy, your talent, your cadence,
and your grace is worth every word!!

and a pleasure to all who lay eyes on them.

You're there already because already you share.  Loved this!

Count me among those who loved the last few lines.  Well done!  Ken
