Degree

Sometimes the bubble that is I
Flies too high into the sky
Expands within the pressures age
And cannot turn another page

It’s there I let some anguish seep
Into forever’s total keep
And slowly let myself come down
To live once more upon the ground

But ground cannot the spirit stay
It must take off the earth to play
To mingle with the phantoms plight
And burn its candle in the night

While digging in the catacombs
Among the gone and dusty bones
To read the message of each place
And leave a stone upon its space

It is a weary tar of grime
But is the mortar of our time

a warm welcome this fine morning
your wise words, always,
puts a smile in my day

My spirit will rise
above the sea~
There will be no drowning
of my soul or me~

Good Morning Sy!
You greet us with yet another great write this sunny Saturday.
Have a great weekend...
Hugs~Nancy

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Morning greetings, Sir T!

"But ground cannot the spirit stay
It must take off the earth to play
To mingle with the phantoms plight
And burn its candle in the night"

Blackout

I suppose you might have surmised that this stanza would be especially appealing to yours truly!

... and we are blessed by your poetic sharings, always.

It's tough, but we are stronger than we might admit.

Love and hugs.
Have a beautiful Sunday.

Especially liked this verse, Sy.  Don't know what I'd do without the night-time...and being off the earth a little.   ......jo

Sy...I'm so sorry I've been neglectful...
but what you say here, above...

is part and parcel of all I've been doing.

Thank you!
