She lay alone in shimmering white
virginal in her pose
beside her bed a book of poems
a bud vase with one rose

A faded quilt keeps her warm
as the hours pass slowly by
she sees the change in her window
as days tick slowly away

Sometimes she lives in reality
seeing all the good in life today
but mostly she faces inward
and watches the view from yesterday

This is just beautiful. I wish I could take a phrase, and write something as beautiful as this.
